Job summary

Zūm Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles, ensuring DOT compliance and safety. You will diagnose, repair, and test drive vehicles, install telematics, and perform scheduled maintenance across heavy/medium-duty trucks.

Ideal candidates bring five years of fleet experience, proficient diagnostics, and ASE certifications. CDL preferred; willing to work flexible schedules in a fast-paced maintenance facility.

Qualifications

• Five years of fleet experience in diesel and heavy/medium-duty vehicles.
• Experience repairing Auto/Truck or Bus vehicles.
• Proven ability to ensure DOT compliance for medium/heavy trucks.
• Owns the recommended minimum hand tools for medium/heavy diesel techs.
• Experience with computerized diagnostics and fleet software.
• Willing to plan and schedule maintenance tasks.
• CDL valid or able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• ASE brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, A/C, or Master School Bus/Truck certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking, drivetrains, suspensions, steering, clutches, transmissions, and related components.
• Test drive during PM inspections to validate concerns; perform post-service tests.
• Install, program, replace, and verify telematics devices.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to unscheduled repairs.
• Conduct road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
• Record labor time and parts accurately on tablets or forms.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and comply with DOT/local safety rules.
