Job summary

Puckett Machinery is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Field Service Technician for Flowood, MS to perform PMs and minor repairs on Caterpillar and allied diesel-powered equipment during customer visits.

You will operate a field service truck, maintain service logs, and communicate with customers about status and scheduling. This role requires up to 50% travel and adherence to DOT and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years diesel technician experience on CAT or competing heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and understand technical literature and schematics.
• Must have and maintain PPE and valid licenses as required by DOT/state.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on customer machines during service calls.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair telematics devices on customer equipment.
• Prepare inspection reports with photographs and keep customers informed of status.
