Job summary

United Ag & Turf NE is a John Deere dealership serving the Northeast, seeking a Field Service Technician to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline equipment in commercial, construction, agricultural, and forestry sectors. This role typically operates in the field, outside the shop, and requires safe, professional service.

You will read orders, perform installations, and maintain equipment using your own tools.

Qualifications

• Must own and maintain your own tools (specialty tools provided by dealership).
• Proficient in basic computer use.
• Able to assemble and perform maintenance functions.
• Flexible to varying schedule and after-hours calls.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent oral communication and written skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Read job orders and observe equipment in operation to determine malfunction and plan repairs.
• Install fuel injection components, replace transmissions, batteries, and hydraulic parts.
• Inspect guards, bolts, and safety devices and make adjustments as needed.
• Fabricate lifting or towing attachments and hydraulic systems per blueprints or schematics.
• Repair tires, undercarriages, and attachments on agricultural equipment.
• Document work performed clearly on work orders.
• Maintain shop tools and keep area clean and safe.
• Ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed in the department.
• Operate and inspect equipment per operating specs and test for conformance.
