Qualifications

Job description

  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Diesel Engineman Contractor Instructor (EN CI) who will be a key support to the Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command (SWESC).

Job Description:

  • Providing instruction, operation, testing, remediation, curriculum support (including updates and maintenance), administration, safety, and management support services for formalized naval training. The EN CI will be responsible for delivering technical and military training, including instructor services and remediation for Department of Defense (DOD) personnel. This includes Navy and Allied Forces officers and enlisted personnel temporarily assigned to SWESC Great Lakes, IL, for training. The role emphasizes ensuring effective training delivery and supporting the professional development of students.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a former (E5–E9) Engineman or Machinist Mate Diesel with a background in main propulsion.
  • Certified as an instructor in the applicable functional area (e.g., NETC requirements).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel systems.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience in the subject matter being instructed.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a Military Training Environment (these can overlap).
  • Must be a graduate of at least one of the following courses:
    • LST 41/49 Colt-Pielstick Maintainer (A-652-0323)
    • Diesel Engine C School Module 5 (LPD C/P) (A-651-9001)
    • USCG ALCO 251C (A-651-3030)
    • USCG FBM (A-651-3031)
    • Fairbanks Morse Diesel 38ND 8-1/8 (A-652-0450)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of learning principles, presentation methods, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum development, training aids, devices, electronic podiums, technical training equipment (TTE), lab equipment, and associated operation and maintenance procedures.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Clearance:

  • Must be able to obtain a favorable background check result.
  • Must be able to obtain CAC to access facilities.
