Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Jamestown, NY is seeking a JTC Test Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute engine and vehicle component testing for heavy-duty product development and validation. You will own all phases of testing—from planning and hardware procurement to test article build, data analysis, and post-test closure.

You will troubleshoot engine systems, test cell equipment, and data acquisition systems, delivering CTRs and technical recommendations while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude is required; college/university or equivalent Associate's degree or STEM certification preferred.
• Equivalent Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline may be required for select roles.
• This position may require licensing for export controls or sanctions regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and execute test plans supporting heavy-duty product development and validation programs.
• Coordinate hardware procurement, instrumentation requirements, and test article builds to support scheduled testing activities.
• Ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with established engineering procedures, standards, and safety requirements.
• Monitor test progress, validate data quality, and resolve technical issues that may impact results or schedule.
• Analyze test data and prepare CTRs, summaries, and technical recommendations.
• Lead and document post-test activities, including teardown inspections and review meetings.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair issues related to engine systems, test cell equipment, instrumentation, controls, and facility systems.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate test documentation and communicate project status, risks, and results to stakeholders.
