Job summary

D&J Precision Machine, based in Cambridge, Ohio, seeks an Engine Technician to remanufacture diesel engine components, measure parts, and assemble long and short blocks. The role requires strong engine knowledge, precision skills, and adherence to quality standards.

The position is onsite, hourly at $25.0, with benefits including health/dental/vision, 401k with match, vacation and sick days, life insurance, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
  • 2+ years experience as Engine Technician with diagnosing, repairing, remanufacturing engine components.
  • Familiarity with advanced engine diagnostic and testing equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive and diesel engine systems, components, and repair processes.
  • Proficient in diagnostic tools, precision measuring instruments, and machining equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and engine specifications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Remanufacture diesel engines, ensuring components meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Measure and inspect engine parts before assembly; ensure proper cleaning prior to assembly.
  • Assemble long and short blocks as required.
  • Perform pressure testing and crack detection to ensure parts are defect-free.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges to ensure exact specifications.
  • Follow manuals, blueprints, and manufacturer guidelines to complete repairs and reconditioning.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and test results for each engine.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge of engine systems and repair techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
