Job summary

LB&B Associates Inc. seeks Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) CI instructors in a contract capacity to deliver expert instruction and assessment at training sites.

Candidates must meet Navy/NITC or NFPA 1041 instructor certifications, have 3+ years of hands-on diesel tech experience, and 2+ years in military training environments. Qualified applicants will hold current certifications for their functional area and be able to manage course content, use training aids, and support safety and quality

Qualifications

• Minimum three years hands-on technical experience related to the subject matter.
• Two years of military training environment experience.
• Current and valid instructor certifications relevant to their functional area.

Responsibilities

• Apply learning principles and effective instructional practices.
• Present and deliver course content to learners; conduct testing and remediation as needed.
• Manage curriculum and maintain course materials.
• Utilize training aids, devices, electronic podiums, and laboratory equipment effectively.
• Operate and maintain diesel engine training equipment and related systems.

Brief Description

LB&B Associates Inc. is seeking Diesel Engine Inspector Contract Instructors. Positions are contingent upon contract award.

Qualifications and Certifications

The following minimum qualifications are required for all personnel providing instruction and assessment at any training sites:

• Instructor Certification: Shall possess one of the following:
  • Graduate from the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502/805A);
  • — OR —
  • Equivalent instructor training certification such as the Emergency Services Instructor I certification, based on NFPA 1041.
• Technical Expertise: A minimum of three (3) years of practical, hands‑on technical experience directly related to the subject matter being taught.
• Military Training Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience working within a Military Training Environment.
• Functional Area Certification: Shall possess current and valid instructor certifications(s) relevant to their specific functional area of instruction (e.g., NETC requirements, professional certifications related to the subject matter).

Instructional Competency

• Learning principles and effective instructional practices.
• Methods for presenting and delivery course content.
• Testing and remediation procedures.
• Curriculum management and maintenance.
• The effective use of training aids, devices, electronic podiums, Tactical Training Equipment (TTE), and laboratory equipment.
• Equipment operation and maintenance procedures associated with the course.

Note: Items ‘b’ and ‘c’ can be concurrent.

Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) CI

• Prior Experience: Shall be a former Senior (E7 – E9) EN OR a MM with documented shipboard experience within the EN or MM ratings. Candidate must have (5) years of experience in operation and maintenance of main propulsion diesel engines prior to attending DEI Course (A-652-0311).
• Technical Expertise & Certification: Possess comprehensive knowledge of safety and an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the diesel inspection process. Shall be a certified diesel inspector with current and valid certification. Upon final certification, NAVSEA 05 DEI Program Manager will submit NAVPERS 1221/6 with supporting documentation to PER-4013D2 for award of this NEC code. Graduate from one of the "C" schools listed in CeTARS CANTRAC Volume II, Course # A-652-0311 for the applicable course to include graduation from all pre‑requisite courses IAW DEI HNBK Part 1 Rev 6 2024.
• Course Completion: Shall be a graduate of both of the following courses: Diesel Engine Core (A- 652-0320) Diesel Engine Inspector Course (A-652-0311).
