Job summary

WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Whitestown, IN to service trucks and equipment used by a nationwide customer base. You will work with modern tools to maintain and repair diesel systems, with a focus on safety and quality.

You’ll join a team that values stability and growth, with first shift hours 4:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, no weekends, and a starting pay of $30–$40 per hour plus generous benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Assisting senior mechanics in the completion of project work.
• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
