Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a C Tech Mechanic in Garner, NC. This entry-level role supports preventative maintenance and basic repairs on diesel and CNG fleet vehicles, working with senior technicians and shop leadership.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of mechanical experience or formal automotive/diesel training, and a drive to learn. You will perform oil changes, PMs, brake checks, and assist with diagnostics, road tests, and safety inspections.

Qualifications

1+ years of entry-level mechanical experience or formal automotive/diesel technician training.
Familiarity with DOT, OSHA and safety compliance standards.
Willingness to learn diagnostic software and shop technologies.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, and PM inspections.
Assist with diagnostics and repairs on brake systems, engines, emissions, steering, wheel bearings and hydraulics.
Support road-ready testing and evaluate performance after repairs.
Conduct DOT and safety inspections to maintain a compliant shop environment.
Complete daily digital work orders, order parts, and track maintenance tasks in shop software.
Participate in training and development opportunities to upgrade technical skills.
