Job summary

Academy Bus is seeking a full-time Class C Diesel Mechanic for our Perth Amboy, NJ location on 2nd shift. Pay rate ranges from $23.00 to $28.00 per hour, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

The role involves repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of modern tour buses, along with collaboration with higher-level mechanics. Requirements include 1–4 years of hands-on diesel experience, a minimum tool value of $2,000, a valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, and the ability to pass

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of hands-on diesel engine maintenance experience preferred.
• Minimum personal tool value of $2000.
• Proven ability to use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks and testing instruments.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of modern tour buses.
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance.
• General lubrication: oil/filters, air filters, chassis lubrication, transmission fluids/filters, differential fluids, axel/wheels.
• Inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components under supervision: brakes, suspension, tires, seats.
• Warranty and repair documentation.
• Assist A and B Level Mechanics with skilled work.

Academy Busis seeking a full-time Class C Diesel Mechanic for our Perth Amboy, NJ location. $2500 Sign On Bonus! Pay rate is $23.00-$28.00 per hour. Pay rate commensurate with experience level.

Shift

• 2nd Shift

Responsibilities: Diesel Mechanic - Class C / Level 3

• Repair, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of modern tour buses
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
• General lubrication functions such as: Oil/filters, air filters, chassis lubrication, transmission fluids/filters, differential fluids, axel/wheels.
• Inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components under supervision such as: Brake components, suspension components, tires, and seats.
• Warranty and repair documentation
• Assist A and B Level Mechanics with skilled work
