Job summary

Academy Bus is seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic for the Hoboken, NJ location. The role offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus and pay ranging from $29.00 to $34.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The shift is 2:00pm-10:00pm, with duties including repair, maintenance and road-call response for diesel buses. Qualified candidates have 4–7 years of diesel engine maintenance experience, own tools, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of diesel engine maintenance experience.
• Must have own tools.
• CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain CDL is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses.
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance.
• Inspections and road tests; warranty and repair documentation.
• Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components listed in the ad.
• Respond to road calls; basic welding/fabrication.
• Assist Level Mechanics and train/supervise C Level Mechanics.

Academy Busis is seeking a full‑time Diesel Mechanic for our Hoboken, NJ location.

$2500 Sign On Bonus.

Earn $29.00-$34.00 per hour. Pay rate commensurate with candidate experience level.

Shift

2:00pm-10:00pm

Responsibilities: Diesel Mechanic – Class B / Level 2

• Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses
• Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
• Inspections and road tests
• Warranty and repair documentation
• Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages.
• Respond to road calls
• Basic welding/fabrication
• Assist Level Mechanics with skilled work and train/supervise C Level Mechanics

Requirements: Diesel Mechanic

• 4-7 years of diesel engine maintenance
• Must have own tools
• Proven ability to use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments
• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable.
