Job description

Tri County Transportation Inc.Tri County Transportation is looking for a full time Diesel/Automotive Mechanic at our Punxsutawney location. Completes preventative maintenance inspections, maintains fluid levels, and repairs and replaces interior and exterior lighting, doors and mirrors, brakes on all systems (hydraulic and air), safety equipment, basic electrical components, and basic air conditioning. Completes road calls.


Salary $38,000-$48,000 per year

Schedule:

10 hour shift
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday

Experience:

Mechanic experience

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly. Their duties include communicating with vehicle operators to discuss their concerns, carrying out routine maintenance procedures on motor vehicles and replacing parts on motor vehicles to promote their functionality.

Responsibility Profile :

  • Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues .

  • Liaise with clients and drivers to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems .

  • Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform clients of any issues .

  • Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested .

  • Keep an accurate log of all work performed .

  • Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition.

  • Adhere to company work safety policies .

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Preference given to those with a technical or automotive school accreditation.

  • 2-4 years of vehicle mechanic experience required

  • Certified PA state inspection license preferred.

  • Will need to acquire additional certifications in order to advance to higher classification levels

  • Safety sensitive position requires random drug and alcohol testing.

  • Must acquire and m aintain a valid PA Class B CDL with air brake restriction removed and a passenger and school bus endorsement.
