Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Die Shop Assistant to support die shop operations by preparing, organizing, tracking, and maintaining customer cutting tools and related materials. This role helps with die production, tooling assembly, inventory management, and shipping activities to keep workflow efficient and accurate.

Key requirements include a high school diploma or GED, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with production and maintenance of rule and rubber dies.
  • Assemble blanking tooling for production requirements.
  • Package and prepare tooling for shipment to other facilities.
  • Plot dies, die vinyls, and spotting sheets.
  • Maintain die numbering systems to ensure proper tracking of customer cutting tools.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to die shop activities.
  • Organize and manage tooling inventory and storage areas.
  • Support general die shop operations and housekeeping activities.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

The Opportunity

The Die Shop Assistant supports die shop operations by preparing, organizing, tracking, and maintaining customer cutting tools and related materials. This role assists with die production, tooling assembly, inventory management, and shipping activities while ensuring accurate records and efficient workflow throughout the department. The position plays a key role in supporting production quality and maintaining organization within the die shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the production and maintenance of rule and rubber dies.
  • Assemble blanking tooling for production requirements.
