Main Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary: 2nd Shift (2pm-10:30pm)

Preparing injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment and setting molds into machines. This includes setting barrel heats, process, robot, end of arm tooling (EOAT), nozzle replacement and any connections (water, air or hydraulic) lines. Pulling existing mold from press and place all equipment not used into proper location. Support material handler responsibilities. Fill out all necessary paperwork.

Job Responsibilities
  • Read operator and setup instructions. Fully understand the function of the mold, such as hydraulic core sequence, water diagram, etc.
  • Setting barrel heats, after ensuring that IMM is purged out of previous material.
  • Clean mold's back plates (clamping surface) and platens before and after each mold change.
  • Installation and removal of molds in accordance to the established procedures.
  • Use of crane in accordance with the established procedures.
  • Install all related connections needed for a mold change.
  • Install pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical signals, hot runner, RJG, cores, without damaging them, verifying for leaks and proper signal relation.
  • Follow water line diagram, if needed, fill out water diagram.
  • Ensure all water lines are connected, flow verified, and safety locks installed.
  • If needed hydraulic and/or pneumatic lines are connected and tested for proper function.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by performing assigned duties.
  • Complete required paperwork and any necessary documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain all working areas free of trip hazards; remove unused components from the area of the IMM when completing mold changes.
  • Fill hoppers with material using a ladder and bucket and/or automatic feeder to ensure continuous production of all production running Injection Molding Machines; monitor the Dryers to ensure resin availability, clean or replace filters, and log resin used or loaded into dryers.
  • Complete required paperwork (dryer slips, labels, material receipts, C of C's) in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Collection and weighing of all purges when ready to be moved.
  • Utilize fork truck and manual conveyance systems to maintain proper control of direct materials from incoming, in process, and warehouse locations.
  • Issue and return resin and molds to proper rack locations and record properly in ERP system.
Qualifications

High School Education or Equivalent (GED); safely and best practices on mold setup. One to three months on the job training is required for the assignment. Good disciplinary standing is a must to be considered for position or training.

Compensation

$21.00 - $23.00/ hour PLUS $0.50/hour Shift Premium

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
