Job summary

MPP is seeking experienced Die Setters for our Punxsutawney, PA manufacturing facility. The role involves reading blueprint layouts, setting up press machines with the correct dies and tooling, and performing quality assurance tests using precision measuring tools.

A mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge are important, with forklift experience a plus. Full training will be provided to successful applicants who can work overtime and weekends as required, in a factory environment

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprint layouts and understand tooling requirements.
• Experience conducting quality tests with precision measuring tools.
• Physically capable of standing for long shifts and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprint layouts and set up press machines with appropriate tooling and dies.
• Set up and operate press equipment as required for various jobs.
• Conduct quality assurance tests using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed; capable of DIY maintenance.

Die Setter

We are seeking experienced, dependable, and precise Die Setters. In this role, you will have the ability to read blueprint layouts. Set up press machines that range in size and understand the appropriate tooling and dies to for each job. You will also conduct quality assurance tests using precision measuring tools. The desired candidate will have a working knowledge of micrometers & calipers. Prior knowledge of quality systems and press equipment is beneficial however we welcome anyone that has a mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform repairs and other “DIY” projects. Full training will be given to successful applicants.

Qualifications: Education and Qualifications:

• Completion of high school or GED
• Previous experience as a die setter and/or working with press machines and/or injection molding preferably in powdered metal.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn.
• Experience driving a forklift truck.

Working Environment and Conditions

• This position requires working in a manufacturing environment.
• This position requires standing, walking and reach with hands and arms for the entire shift.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime is required.
• The employee must be willing to work up to 10-hour shifts and weekends as required.
