Job summary

Amsted Automotive is seeking an experienced Die Setter for the 3rd shift to set up and tear down powder metal presses from 200T to 750T. You will read prints, follow process specs, and assist operators as needed.

Responsibilities include density checks, machine setup of automated lines, and preventative maintenance. Candidates should have 3–5 years in manufacturing, with 3 years in die setting a strong plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Die Setter experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with powder metal presses is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines and adjust equipment per instructions and prints.
• Perform density checks before production runs and monitor setups.
• Set up and operate all department equipment including automated lines; perform preventative maintenance.
• Use precision measuring tools and blueprints for setup verification.
• Maintain necessary records and paperwork.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Die Set technicians are responsible for the set up and tear down of powder metal presses ranging from 200T-750T. We are looking for an experienced Die Setter who has the experience and ability to work from instructions, prints, and process specifications; set up machines and make adjustments as needed, and help operators when needed. This position will be filled on 3rd shift.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Set-up machines and adjusts as required including calibrated gauging and chucking equipment.
• Make density checks prior to production runs, and monitor production runs to ensure correct set-up operation is occurring.
• Know how to set-up and operate all equipment in the department including automated lines, and perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Use calibrated precision measuring instruments and blueprints.
• Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, dirt, oil and grease, with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable. Full-time position. May require some overtime and weekend hours.
