Job description

Die Repair Technician

We are seeking individuals who are highly mechanically inclined and eager to learn. The role involves working in the shop, replacing, and repairing various dies.

Needs:
  • North Plant:
  • 2 on 2nd shift
  • 1 on 3rd shift
  • South Plant:
  • 3 on 2nd shift
  • 3 on 3rd shift
  • Sun Prairie:
  • 1 on 1st shift
  • 1 on 2nd shift
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assemble casting dies.
  • Troubleshoot non-functioning dies.
  • Make repairs to dies on the die-cast machine.
  • Create maintenance work requisitions for repairs, hydraulic cylinder fixes, electrical issues, etc.
  • Read product and die prints; use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Use AutoVue to view designs.
  • Set limit switches and perform final fitting of slides and slide locks.
  • Operate equipment like ejector pin grinders, hydraulic cavity extractors, and hydraulic power units for inspection.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Plant environment with exposure to smoke, heat, fumes, noise, and potential hazards like cuts, bruises, burns, and crushing injuries.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires physical exertion, including occasional lifting up to 70 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move around the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in die-casting or a similar trade.
  • Knowledge of die casting processes and die operation.
  • Ability to obtain MKC forklift and crane certification.
  • Key qualities: mechanically inclined, self-motivated, good communication skills, team player.
