100Hires, Inc. seeks a Die Polisher to support the Forge department in maintaining and repairing all tooling and dies for Manual and Automatic Upsetter machines.

You will assemble, recondition, bench, change, and clean tooling, document measurements, and ensure conformance using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. You’ll inspect dies for cracks, salvage wear, decipher blueprints, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following plant rules.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–3 months related experience or training preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.
• Experience using measurement devices such as micrometers and calipers.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints.
• Experience with crane/hoist operations is a plus.

**Overview: **The die polisher supports the Forge department with the maintenance and repair of all tooling/dies for the Manual and Automatic Upsetter machines.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities: **Responsible for all aspects of assembling, reconditioning, benching, changing, and cleaning up the tooling for use in the manual and automatic upsetters.Document process measurements using the required forms.Must be proficient using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other gages to ensure conformance to specifications.Resurface and clean dies/tooling using hand tools: powered drill, grinder, and files, and any other hand tools.Inspects dies for cracks and smoothness of finish as well as conformance to specs.Measures diameter of die openings for conformance to specifications, using steel gauge pins and micrometerInspects worn dies to determine their extent of wear to determine salvageability of die/toolingAnalyzes defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends changes or modifications.Deciphers blueprints of parts, machines and/or diesMaintains a clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.Follows all safety and plant rules and regulations.Performs other duties as assigned.**Supervisory Responsibilities: **This role has no supervisory responsibilities.**Education and/or Experience: **High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.One to three months related experience and/or training preferred**************Key Competencies****Communication Skills: **Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to effectively report relevant data and job specific information as needed**Mathematical Skills: **Ability to perform basic mathematics.**Computer Skills: **Ability to navigate basic technology including but not limited to the use of digital self-service platforms, time clocks and other systems where applicable.**Additional Preferred Skills and Experience: **Satisfactory completion of Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.Demonstrated ability using measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, etcPossess a good mechanical aptitude.Previous experience with crane operation.,**Physical Demands: **Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shiftsUse carts, dollies, cranes and jacks to transport material when neededMust be able to regularly lift and or move up to 40 lbs.Tolerate potentially extreme temperature fluctuations impacted by weather and machineryAcclimate to high noise and vibration levels in work spacesWear and adhere to all PPE guidelines including hard hats, protective eye wear, ear plugs, and approved footwear with metatarsal and steel toe safeguards.Comfortable working in confined work environmentsWhat we offer:Payrate: $25.25/hourFull-Time employmentShift Premiums: 2nd shift ($1.00), 3rd shift ($0.75)/per hourUnionized facility with a probationary period of 856 working hours (approximately 5 months)Benefits Day 1 (Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, AD & D Life insurance) bolded benefits are company paid.401k Company MatchTime Off:Six (6) PTO days after 6 months of serviceTwo (2) weeks of paid vacation (for 1 year of service but less than 5)Eleven (11) paid holidays after completion of their probationary periodNew FORD vehicle/ supplier discountCompany provided PPEAnnual boot allowance and vendor $15 discountQuarterly Perfect Attendance BonusFresh Food Vending Machines with 5th lunch free for every 4 purchased**Work Environment: **The Die Polisher interacts with historic machinery within the facility which often involves proximity to heat, noise, debris, conveyance systems and other potentially dangerous equipment.
