Job summary

gpac seeks a skilled Die Maker for a precision metalworking manufacturer in Brookings, SD. You will build, repair, and maintain progressive dies, read drawings, and ensure high-tolerance parts for aerospace, medical, and defense sectors.

Work in a modern ISO-certified shop, operate grinders, mills, and lathes, and collaborate with engineering to meet customer specs. 5+ years' experience and journeyman certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Die Maker experience in a metal stamping environment.
• Proficient in tool and die fitting, machining, and assembly.
• Strong knowledge of progressive die design and function.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards is a plus.
• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification preferred.

• Conduct preventative maintenance on dies to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Maintain accurate documentation of die modifications and repair history.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, and maintain progressive and single-hit stamping dies.


• Troubleshoot dies during production and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent part quality.


• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.


• Operate surface grinders, mills, lathes, and other toolroom equipment with high precision.
