Job summary

• Sharpen and maintain bonding and grooving dies and remove burrs as needed.
• Process defective parts through the grinder to sharpen tooling.
• Make machine parts for in-house machinery and coordinate with engineers.
• Confirm stamping dies produce high-quality parts.
• Communicate production updates and plan, organize, and complete tasks with coworkers.

Essential Duties

• Sharpen and maintain the dies on the steel and saturation presses. Sharpen the blades as needed.
• Machine or weld parts when needed. Grind rollers for assembly line and roll coaters.
• Sharpen and maintain bonding and grooving dies. Break bolts off or remove burrs as needed.
• Take defective parts and put them through the grinder in order to sharpen the tooling.
• Make machine parts for in-house machinery and take the parts to the engineers.
• Confirms that stamping dies are capable of producing superior quality parts.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers to inform them of work-related problems, production updates, and to plan, organize, and complete job tasks.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma/GED; or vocational training. 1 year related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read blueprints required.
