Job summary

Snap-on Incorporated is seeking an engineer to design and develop new and existing tools and dies. You will translate concepts into manufacturable designs, manage project plans, and interface with marketing and manufacturing to drive profitability and timely delivery.

Responsibilities include integrating CATIA CAD/CAM with forge die designs, programming CNC die sinking equipment, and maintaining tooling data. Strong communication and MS software skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus a 2-year technical degree in CS or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication on PC related information for end users.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software – past, present (and future) versions.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate CATIA CAD/CAM technologies with forge die designs; develop complex 3D models and NC data.
  • Develop CNC die sinking equipment programs from CAD/CAM; specify tools and documentation.
  • Directly program CNC die sinking equipment for simple machining.
  • Propose new die materials as part of development.
  • Instruct and assist production personnel in tooling and manufacturing applications; troubleshoot die performance and CNC efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering to create drawing packages for die and tooling design.
  • Maintain CNC program files; maintain die and tooling design files.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
