Responsibilities

  • Set up machine by positioning dies, aligning materials and adjusting machine settings as needed.
  • Test a run to check the positioning is correct and obtain supervisor sign-off.
  • Monitor output quality and perform inspections to meet specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to keep machines operating efficiently.
  • Comply with safety procedures and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments on projects and validations.
  • Support continuous improvement, safety, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Description

A die cutting machine operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining die cutting machines to produce specific shapes from various materials. Die cutting machines can be flat bed or rotary machines. A successful operator has mechanical abilities, a enjoyment for working with their hands, strong attention to detail, and mathematical ability. The shift is Sunday 10pm-7:00am, M-TH 12:00am - 7:00am. Shift differential applies to base rate of pay.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and understand job jacket to ensure you have the required materials and die needed to complete the job.
  • Set up machine by positioning dies, aligning materials and adjusting machine settings as needed.
  • Test a run to check the positioning is correct. Have supervisor sign off.
  • Monitor and quality of the output, performing inspections to ensure that products meet specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate efficiently.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and policies.
  • Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
  • Focuses on Continuous Improvement, Quality, Improved Cycle Times, Safety, Cost Reductions, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and core processes.
  • Daily and timely attendance required to be successful.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Must be able to lift / push/ pull up to 20 lbs unassisted (or more occasionally).
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of shift – 2 hour increments.
  • Short distance walking required with rolls to be placed on shipping table.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
  • Must be able to differentiate between color variance.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
  • Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, and if needed, holidays and weekends.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.
Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

Manufacturing environment – exposure to some hazardous conditions but not limited to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. Safety regulations in place following OSHA guidelines.
