Job Title: Die Cutter (Punching) Operator

Department: Paper Cups

Supervisor’s Title: Production Manager

Location: Tolleson, AZ

Work Type: On‑Site (Not a Remote Position)

Summary

The Die Cutter (Punching) Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery that cuts sheet material into pieces of a specific size and shape. Through the process of die cutting, the machinery uses a combination of rollers and cutting plates that press a precise shape into the material.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Start the die‑cutting machine, monitor speed according to product specifications, feed the paper roll, place good segments on the intended platform, and separate defective segments.
• Calibrate and adjust machinery according to die‑cutting registration to ensure efficient and timely startup.
• Troubleshoot machinery and comply with the daily assigned production plan.
• Verify all acceptance parameters of the stamped segments according to the acceptance criteria provided by the supervisor.
• Select and discard segments with die registration defects, as well as segments that are outside of printing parameters.
• Communicate defects or possible defects to the supervisor before determining to accept or reject material.
• Monitor operating parameters for the machinery and report incidents or variations to a supervisor.
• Perform die changes according to the production plan.
• Remove all process waste to ensure cleanliness in die cutting, and weigh and estimate the amount of waste.
• Remove die‑cut segments from the machine onto the pallets.
• Comply with all safety rules, PPE policies, procedures and practices, including lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Lead, Shift Supervisor or Department Manager.

Physical Demands

• Work an 8+ or 12+ hour shift while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Manually move cases of finished goods weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

• Exposed to extreme heat in a manufacturing environment that is not air‑conditioned.
• Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, hearing protection, and safety glasses with side guards.
• Work an 8+ or 12+ hour day shift; available weekdays, weekends, and overtime.
