Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Die Cutter Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Bolingbrook, IL. This role sets up, operates, and maintains die cutting equipment to produce folding cartons and packaging products, with emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in printing, packaging, or converting environments, strong mechanical aptitude, fluent English, and ability to interpret production schedules; includes shift options 5am-5pm or 5pm-5am and competitive

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate die cutting equipment according to job tickets and production specifications.
• Install and align dies, cutting plates, stripping units, and make-ready materials.
• Adjust machine settings including speed, pressure, registration, guides, and stripping functions.
• Perform efficient job changeovers while minimizing downtime and material waste.
• Read and interpret production schedules and job specifications.
• Perform make-readies and verify proper machine setup before production.
• Inspect finished products and perform documented quality checks throughout production.
• Troubleshoot die cutting equipment, tooling, and mechanical issues.

Die Cutter Operator | Folding Carton & Packaging Production

(Set up, operate, and maintain die cutting equipment to produce high-quality folding cartons and packaging products while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.)

Location: Bolingbrook, IL

Shift Options: (5am-5pm Day shift) (5pm - 5am Night shift)

• Monday – Wednesday: Three 12-hour shifts
  • OR
• Thursday – Saturday: Three 12-hour shifts
• Sunday: Optional overtime based on production needs

Pay: $22.00–$33.00/hr Based on Experience

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Experience in printing, packaging, folding carton, or converting manufacturing

Preferred:

Physical & Work Environment

• Stand and walk for extended periods during 8 to 12-hour shifts
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and handling production materials
• Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Required use of PPE and adherence to all plant safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate die cutting equipment according to job tickets and production specifications
• Install and align dies, cutting plates, stripping units, and make-ready materials
• Adjust machine settings including speed, pressure, registration, guides, and stripping functions
• Perform efficient job changeovers while minimizing downtime and material waste
• Read and interpret production schedules and job specifications
• Perform make-readies and verify proper machine setup before production
• Inspect finished products and perform documented quality checks throughout production
• Troubleshoot die cutting equipment, tooling, and mechanical issues
• Move finished loads using hand trucks or forklifts as needed
• Perform routine preventative maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and basic machine adjustments
• Coordinate with Printing Press Operators, Folder Gluer Operators, and Production teams to maintain workflow
• Assist in training new operators as needed
• Participate in shift handoffs, production meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow all SQF, GMP, food safety, PPE, and Lockout/Tagout procedures

The essential functions of this role include:
