Job summary

CustomGraphix is seeking a skilled Die Cutter Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up, operate, and maintain die-cutting presses for precise output on paperboard and paper substrates, ensuring high-quality results with minimal waste.

The role requires 2–5 years of die-cutting experience, strong knowledge of weights, scoring, and creasing, and the ability to perform make-readies, adjustments, and routine maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years operating die-cutting machinery in paper/board manufacturing.
• Technical knowledge of paper weights, scoring, creasing, and steel rule dies.
• Mechanical aptitude to adjust machines with hand tools and perform make-readies.
• Detail-oriented with keen eyes to spot defects and alignment shifts.
• Physical stamina to stand long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate manual or semi-automated die-cutting presses according to job tickets.
• Tooling & Die Preparation: Install dies, stripping components, and counter-creasing matrices; ensure clean cuts.
• Quality Control: Inspect first-off pieces and monitor quality throughout runs for accuracy.
• Substrate Handling: Manage paper or paperboard feeds, adjusting for calipers and grain directions.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform preventive maintenance and address cutting issues mid-run.
• Safety & Documentation: Maintain a clean, safe environment and log production data.
