Job summary

Qualifications

  • Reads and interprets job specifications and instructions.

  • Ability to use measuring tools and gauges.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on a manufacturing line.
  • Reads and follows safety procedures and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Reads order jacket to determine specifications of order to be cut.
  • Set up die-cutting machines, including loading dies and adjusting pressure and speed.
  • Ensure alignment on equipment and operate safely to cut paper stock per job specs.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on machinery.
  • Complete paperwork at end of tasks.

A Paper Die Cut Machine Operator, or a Cutter is responsible for setting up and operating die-cutting machinery to produce high-quality paper products according to customer specifications and production schedules. Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.Weight Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.Manual Dexterity: Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components.Range of Motion: Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.Sensory/Vision: Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.Work Environment: Ability to perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
