Job summary

Ahresty in Ohio is seeking a Die Casting Operator to support the Die Change group on a designated shift. You will lead, coordinate and participate in die changes, troubleshoot production equipment, and help maintain production schedules while upholding 5S practices.

Candidate should have understanding of die casting processes and at least 6 months of relevant experience; basic communication and computer skills are required. Welding experience is a plus and training is available.

Qualifications

• Must have understanding of die casting processes, machines, and ancillary equipment; at least 6 months in die casting operation.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills; basic organizational skills; basic computer skills for reports (spreadsheets, graphs, word processing).
• Welding experience preferred but training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Welds and repairs ladles.
• Performs daily checks of ladle pour position and aids improvements.
• Welds and helps repair machine and sleeve bushings.
• Performs inventory of die change supplies and coordinates with Division Leader to reorder.
• Communicates with other divisions regarding parts quality in assigned areas.
• Promotes and participates in 5S audits to improve division-wide 5S.
• Participates in die and trim press die changes as needed as backup.
• Troubleshoots and repairs production equipment to meet schedules.
• Follows Safety Procedures on the floor.
• Under supervision, completes training to meet required skills and provides ongoing training.
