AWS / CES is seeking an Engineering Manager for our automotive manufacturing client in Clinton, TN.

- Pay rate : $85k-$120k
Position Summary
The Die Casting Engineering Manager leads engineering initiatives within a die casting manufacturing environment, driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. This role requires expertise in die design, process control, and project management, with a strong background in Japanese automotive manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, capable of managing teams, collaborating globally, and delivering innovative solutions. Occasional international travel (12 weeks at a time) is required to support global teams and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and development of die casting dies and trim tooling.
- Create and manage annual and semi-annual action plans aligned with company objectives.
- Lead process improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce defects, and minimize environmental impact.
- Partner with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Ensure compliance with company, industry, and safety standards.
- Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines.
- Train, mentor, and lead engineering staff in die casting best practices.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and present project proposals and secure funding as needed.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead and manage members of the Production Engineering Department.
- Responsibilities include hiring, training, work assignments, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in die casting or related manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of die design, metallurgy, and process optimization.
- Leadership experience managing engineering teams.
- Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with IATF and ISO standards.
- Ability to interpret technical journals, reports, and present to senior leadership.
- Willingness to travel internationally (12 weeks at a time) as business needs require.
