Job summary

Sanford Health is hiring a Dialysis Technician for a brand-new unit in the United States. The schedule runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 36-hour work week and a salary range of $19.00–$26.50 per hour.

Under RN supervision, you will perform delegated dialysis tasks and support patient care in a close-knit community. The role emphasizes equipment prep, cannulation, treatment monitoring, alarm management, accurate documentation, and strict infection control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.
• Certification as Hemodialysis Technician within 18 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated dialysis interventions under direct supervision of the licensed nurse.
• Prepare dialysis equipment for patient treatment and set alarm limits per policy.
• Inspect the access site and cannulate the dialysis access to initiate treatment.
• Obtain blood samples via dialysis lines or access site.
• Adjust blood flow and fluid removal rates per policy.
• Monitor and document dialysis parameters and vital signs; adjust as directed by nurse.
• Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments.
• Respond to dialysis-related emergencies, including CPR, under supervision.
• Administer medications as part of hemodialysis treatment (heparin, local anesthetic, saline).
• Maintain infection control practices including PPE, cleaning, and station sanitation.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computerized charting and software.
• Understand water system components and testing; act if parameters are out of range.
• Participate in orientation and education of dialysis technicians.
