Job summary

Northwest Kidney Centers seeks a Dialysis Technician II to join the Port Angeles Kidney Center in a per diem, variable shift role. The position includes setting up dialysis machines, connecting patients to equipment and monitoring treatments under RN supervision.

Per diem shifts and early/late hours are required, with duties including safety and patient communication. Direct-care staff may float to other NKC clinics as needed to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School Diploma (or GED or advanced degree)
• (1) One year of dialysis experience
• CCHT is required from Bonent or NNCC
• American Heart Association BLS

Responsibilities

• Set up dialysis machines and connect patients to the dialysis circuits.
• Monitor and document treatments, then safely disconnect patients.
• Clean, reprocess dialyzers and handle dialysis chemicals with safety procedures.
• Communicate with patients, their families and staff; escalate issues as needed.

Northwest Kidney Centers seeks a Dialysis Technician II to join the Port Angeles Kidney Center in a per diem, variable shift role.

Schedule: Per Diem, 2 shifts required per month, Variable (4:45am-2:15pm or 2:00pm-11:30pm), Variable days of the week

The Dialysis Technician receives direction for the delivery of patient care from the unit registered nurse, supervisor or manager. This position performs hemodialysis tasks, which include: setting-up dialysis machines, coupling patients to dialysis machines, monitoring treatment then disconnecting them after treatment; cleaning and reprocessing dialyzer, work with chemicals involved in the operation of the dialysis equipment being aware of safety procedures; refers identified problems appropriately, performs other tasks as delegated and communicates with patients, their families, staff and other organizations.

Direct-care employees are required to float to other clinics, as needed, to maintain safe patient care.

Required qualifications
