Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Dialysis Technician to support initiation and delivery of hemodialysis, assisting with equipment setup, supplies, and patient care. The role requires participation in room turnover and adherence to department policies, ensuring safety and quality of care.

The technician will monitor patient responses during dialysis, document in the EMR, and help maintain the dialysis machinery and RO water system under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; BLS required.
• Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician or 1 year acute hospital experience.
• Proficiency with dialysis equipment and patient care.
• Ability to read and follow policy; strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing patient, assembling supplies/instruments, and terminating treatment; supports room turnover.
• Monitors patient response to dialysis therapy and reports unusual findings to nurse.
• Documents in the EMR within scope of practice.
• Maintains disinfection and routine maintenance of dialysis machine and RO water system.
