Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of prior experience in a medical setting.
• Preferred experience: dialysis technician, CMA, CNA, phlebotomist, surgical tech, first responder, EMT, ED tech, or LPN.
• Annual dept. specific and hospital wide mandatories are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during dialysis from start to finish and manage daily operations between patient and dialysis machine.
• Perform basic water testing related tasks.
• Respond to machine alarms according to established procedures.
• Assist in patient discharge and transfer with RN guidance, including gathering belongings and transporting patients.
• Perform dialysis-related laboratory procedures and quality control, including specimen collection and glucose monitoring.
• Document all care per established protocols and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Support patient advocacy, rights, and service standards.
• Attend in-service programs and complete annual competencies for vascular access cannulation and related dialysis tasks.
