Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Hemodialysis Technician to support dialysis services under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with direct patient care, equipment maintenance, and basic lab tasks in a multidisciplinary environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, six months of dialysis experience, and BLS certification, with potential certification within 18 months for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of experience as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician required.
• Successful completion of Ishihara color blindness test before employment.
• Excellent communication skills and computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and with multiple team members.
• Maintain Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from AHA/Red Cross/Military Training Network.
• Complete clinical hemodialysis technician certification within 18 months if hired after Oct 14, 2008.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and observations during dialysis.
• Operate and maintain dialysis equipment and water treatment monitoring.
• Assist with blood draws and laboratory tests as required.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to maintain patient care standards.
• Work under RN supervision within Mayo Clinic Dialysis Services.
