What You Will Do
- Provides the direct, patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Documents patient treatment information accurately and in the appropriate patient record. Assists licensed nurse with pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments and their documentation.
- Monitors and documents dialysis treatment parameters in patient’s medical record.
- Reports any significant information or change in patient condition to the supervisor.
- Assists with all emergency operational procedures.
- Initiates basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and responds to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.
- Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the water system.
- Responsible for making sure lab tubes are properly processed and packed for delivery to outside laboratory.
- Assists with patient education and documents accordingly.
- Performs routine procedures, vital signs, and other appropriate tasks as delegated by ONA standards and RN.
- Communicates patient information to the Assistant Director.
- Documents basic care in patient’s medical record.
- Accurately and completely documents data pertinent to water treatment.
- Able to safely operate all dialysis related equipment.
- Able to provide minor trouble shooting when necessary.
- Familiarity with all emergency equipment.
- Completes the water training program annually.
What You Will Need
- Must be a high school graduate. Previous hospital experience preferred.
- Must successfully complete State approved training program and certification exam.
- Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: Must possess a current license as an Ohio Certified Dialysis Technician.
- Must be currently certified in CPR (and recertified bi-annually).
