General Information:

Job title: Dialysis Technician

Location: Delton Family Medical Center - Wisconsin Dells, WI

Schedule: Full-time 72, hours per pay period; 3am to 3:30pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday,

Weekend rotation: None, but may pick up hours on Saturdays in the Delton Unit when the need arises.

Holiday rotation: Required when holiday falls on working day

Position Summary:

The Dialysis Technician assists in providing hemodialysis to patients by; preparing dialysis machines, cannulating patient access and initiating/discontinuing treatments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient access before cannulation each treatment.
  • Setting up and tearing down of dialysis machines in safe and timely manner.
  • Documents necessary data for each patient every treatment.
  • Monitor patients closely during treatment for adverse reactions and reports to nurse accordingly.
  • Obtain lab specimens as ordered.
  • Attends daily huddles and monthly meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other nursing duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CCHT certification preferred or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • BLS certification required.
  • 6 months of related work experience preferred.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Intermediate to expert proficiency with computers is required.
  • Clinical skills: cannulate, draw labs, calculate fluid removal and documentation.
  • Responsible for cleaning, quality control and maintenance of dialysis equipment.
  • Self-starter with excellent customer service, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
