Job summary

Decatur Morgan Hospital is seeking a Dialysis Registered Nurse to lead the healthcare team within the Hemodialysis unit. You will build authentic relationships with patients and support systems, collaborating with physicians to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized kidney care plans.

You will prepare equipment, oversee dialysis from start to finish, and educate patients on home care, diet, and medications while ensuring safety and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active nursing license in Alabama.
• 6 months dialysis RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares dialysis equipment for patient treatment.
• Oversees the dialysis treatment from start to finish.
• Cannulates accesses successfully and aseptically.
• Assess and monitors patient and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients accordingly.
• Interprets and records patient information timely and accurately.
• Identifies irregular dialysis reactions and notifies appropriate medical team members.
• Teaches patients how to manage their illness by explaining home care needs, diet/nutrition, and medications when necessary.
• Provides pre- and post-dialysis care to patients within the Hemodialysis unit.
