Job summary

Healthier Mississippi People seeks an experienced RN for dialysis patient education and care coordination. You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on a 24-hour basis to ensure optimal dialysis treatment and patient education, aligned with the center's mission.

The role includes monitoring patients, interpreting lab values, precepting new staff, and participating in IDCC and other hospital committees to improve patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as RN.
• Two years RN experience in specified area preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for dialysis needs.
• Provide safe and effective dialysis to patients.
• Interpret lab values for critical levels; operate hemodialysis machines, CRRT and SLED.
• Precepts new employees.
• Attends federally required inter-disciplinary care committee (IDCC) meetings.
• Monitors patients for adult dialysis.
• Monitors CRRT, hemodialysis and all peritoneal dialysis.
• Audits equipment and coordinates dialysis staff; acts as charge nurse as needed.
• Consults with physicians and nursing staff on a 24 hour basis.
• Serves on committees or task forces to improve patient care or work area.
