Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Irvington, NJ is seeking an experienced Dialysis RN Charge Nurse to oversee daily operations in the dialysis unit and lead a team to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.

This full-time role requires active NJ RN license and at least 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with dialysis experience preferred. Responsibilities include water quality checks, infection control, staff onboarding, and collaboration with the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in New Jersey.
• Minimum of 1 year Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
• Dialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee water quality checks in accordance with guidelines.
• Ensure proper biohazardous waste handling and disposal.
• Maintain infection control practices including machine/ chair disinfection.
• Promote a clean, safe patient care environment.
• Review treatment documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff.
• Participate in staff evaluations and performance improvement processes.
• Respond effectively to emergencies.
• Assign staff to patients based on acuity and care needs.
• Facilitate smooth daily dialysis unit operations.
• Communicate unit concerns to the Nurse Manager.
• Maintain knowledge of patient conditions and care plans during shifts.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Promote patient-centered care and excellent customer service.

Pay Rate: Up to $60 /hour

Position Summary

Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Dialysis RN Charge Nurse to oversee daily operations within the dialysis unit. This leadership role ensures high-quality patient care, staff coordination, and compliance with clinical and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and document water quality checks in accordance with established guidelines

• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous waste

• Maintain strict infection control practices, including disinfection of machines, chairs, and supplies

• Promote and enforce a clean, safe patient care environment

• Review treatment documentation for accuracy and completion

• Assist with onboarding and orientation of new staff members

• Participate in staff evaluations and performance improvement processes

• Respond effectively to emergency situations

• Assign staff to patients based on acuity, skill level, and care needs

• Facilitate smooth daily operations within the dialysis unit

• Communicate all unit concerns and updates directly to the Nurse Manager

• Maintain thorough knowledge of patient conditions and care plans during assigned shifts

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations

• Promote excellent customer service and patient-centered care

• Maintain professionalism and foster a supportive team environment

• Educate staff and patients on clinical and technical aspects of dialysis, including medication administration

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience

• Experience with venipuncture required

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond to emergencies

• Prior dialysis experience preferred
