Job summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Dialysis unit in Lexington, KY. This full-time position supports inpatients needing hemodialysis, plasma exchange, or plasmapheresis, with 24/7 dialysis coverage across units.

The RN will lead nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, and education, coordinating admissions and discharges while upholding evidence-based care and patient-centered healing.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class as required by department.
• Associate degree holders with <10 years' experience must enroll in a bachelor's program within 12 months and complete within 5 years.

Unit Overview:

Dialysisunit services all inpatients that require hemodialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange, or plasmapheresis during their hospital admission; either within the department and/or critical care areas. Dialysis services are available as needed 24/7.

Shift: Full-time, 1st Shift

Job Description:

• The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• Nursingpractices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies andprocedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

• As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provisionof nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning asapplicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Basic life support [must be obtained within 30 days of hire.]
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
• Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.
