Fresenius Medical Care in Wisconsin is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in delivering safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will set up and operate dialysis machines, monitor patients, and help maintain a clean and safe environment.

The role involves recording data, assisting with vascular access care, and supporting clinical teams in CQI activities to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency, perform cannulation, and administer heparin as delegated or per state law.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vitals and weight; perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment.
• Initiate dialysis per orders including QB and QD flows.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis and intervene as prescribed.
• Document vitals, treatment parameters, and discharge information.
• Record dialysis machine programming for UF goal, treatment time and UF modeling.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled (NVL 160) and report abnormal findings.
