Job summary

FutureCare in the Baltimore area seeks a Patient Transporter to move patients to/from dialysis centers and assist with basic care under nurse supervision.

You will coordinate with the Charge Nurse, ensure disinfected recliners, stock supplies, and support families. Requires high school diploma, CPR/BLS, and experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have at least 1 year experience working in a healthcare setting.
• GNA certification needed.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Comfortable working with geriatric population.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-centered environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Must be able to work as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and clients in a safe and professional manner
• Assist patients and clients as needed to ensure safe transfer
• Effectively communicate with Charge Nurse regarding scheduled progress and the ability to receive and perform additional duties/instructions
• Ensure Dialysis recliners are properly disinfected between clients and returned to Dialysis Suite at end of shift
• Comforts patients and their family members by offering support and encouragement
• Stock supplies daily and help with inventory
• Assist with lab labeling
• Complete "MOLST" communication book forms in a timely manner
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following all standards and procedures
