Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States is seeking a dialysis technician to support the hemodialysis care team under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, delivering safe and effective dialysis in line with FMCNA policies.

You will set up and operate dialysis machines, help maintain a safe, clean work environment, participate in Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and CQI activities, and assist in educating patients about adequacy measures and care during treatment.

Responsibilities

• Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships via timely communication.
• Respond, resolve and follow up on customer service issues promptly.
• Assist other health care members in education regarding adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM).
• Welcome patients and assess wellbeing since last treatment; report concerns to nurse supervisor.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency; report unusual findings.
• Record vital signs, weight, and other parameters; document accurately.
• Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming for UF, Na modeling and UF modeling.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled (NVL 160).
• Document all treatment-related information and progress notes.
• Observe patient status and perform interventions per physician orders.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis and report unusual findings.
• Perform cannulation and report difficulties to nurse supervisor.
• Initiate dialysis treatment per orders including QB and QD.
