Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Ohio is hiring a Patient Care Technician / Dialysis Technician Trainee to split time between Kent and Streetsboro clinics. No prior dialysis experience is required. We provide 12 weeks of paid, comprehensive training to help you start a rewarding career in patient care.

These are full-time positions with early morning start times; travel between facilities is required. Benefits include no overnight shifts and clinics closed on Sundays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• CMS/state licensure and training requirements must be met.
• CPR certification is required.
• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Continued employment depends on successful completion of dialysis training and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing since their last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and cannulation; administer heparin as allowed.
• Record pre/post treatment vital signs and weight; perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment.
• Initiate dialysis treatment per orders (QB) and monitor treatment response.
• Document treatment data accurately; monitor and report any changes to RN or supervisor.
• Perform post-dialysis evaluation and ensure machine safety checks; prepare lab specimens as required.
