Job Summary

Concerto is seeking a Dialysis Technician to join its team! The Dialysis Technician functions as part of the hemodialysis healthcare team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients. Works under the supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with Concerto's policies, procedures, training, and in compliance with regulations set by state and federal agencies.

Essential Functions
  1. Provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
  2. Provides excellent customer service to all external and internal customers, including patients/families, co-workers, physicians, and long-term care staff.
  3. Obtains pre- and post-treatment vitals, weight, and vascular access assessment. Reports any unusual changes or findings to the nurse.
  4. Responsible for the setup, operation, and safety checks of hemodialysis machines.
  5. Initiates and discontinues dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders and policies.
  6. Performs heparin administration as allowed by state law.
  7. Documents all patient treatment information accurately and timely, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and changes in condition.
  8. Assists in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  9. Prepares laboratory specimens as prescribed.
Physical Demands
  • The physical demands and work environment are typical of a healthcare facility.
  • Must meet the requirements of Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment.
  • Requires frequent standing, bending, and the ability to move or lift equipment up to 200 lbs with assistance, and chemical/water solutions up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires mental, visual, and auditory attention.
  • Work environment involves exposure to infectious materials, with temperature control and moderate noise levels.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR Certification or completion upon starting.
  • Ability to meet physical demands.
  • Minimum of two years dialysis technician experience.
  • Dialysis certification required.
