Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the dialysis health care team under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. You will support safe and effective dialysis therapy, handle setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Responsibilities include patient education on adequacy measures, monitoring vital signs and treatment parameters, documenting care, and reporting changes to the nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification within the required state timeline.
• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and assist cannulation under supervision.
• Monitor vital signs and treatment parameters; document accurately.
• Respond to intradialytic issues and report changes to the RN or supervisor.
• Follow infection control practices and CQI activities as required.
