Dialysis Patient Care Technician - Floater

Overview

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients with renal failure. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN).

Responsibilities
  1. Patient Care: Provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment, including gathering patient stats, initiating and monitoring treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting blood samples.
  2. Technician Duties: Prepare and disinfect machines, conduct safety checks, and ensure quality control following protocols and regulations.
  3. Safety and Compliance: Use appropriate safety measures, adhere to policies, participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Interest in healthcare and patient care.
  • Experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
  • Ability to mix acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
Additional Requirements
  • Complete USRC training program and demonstrate competency within 8 weeks of hire.
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Obtain and maintain Patient Care Technician certification within 18 months of hire, according to state requirements.
