Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CMS/state certification requirements
• Experience in patient care preferred; dialysis training program completion
• Willingness to travel between facilities and adhere to safety policies

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about wellbeing since their last treatment
• Evaluate vascular access patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated
• Record vital signs, weight and treatment data; document accurately
• Initiate dialysis per prescribed orders including QB and QD
• Monitor patient response to dialysis and manage intradialytic issues as directed
• Discontinue dialysis and assess patient before venous access termination
• Maintain clean, safe environment and disinfect equipment between treatments
• Assist in training direct care staff under RN supervision
• Ensure compliance with CQI and infection control policies
• Prepare lab specimens and manage documentation of treatment data
