Job description

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care during dialysis treatment: gather patient stats before and after treatment, monitor patients, terminate treatment, and collect blood samples per physician orders.
• Prepare hemodialysis machines, clean and disinfect after treatment, perform machine safety checks, and log results for quality control while ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.
• Use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment, and adhere to company policies, procedures, and state and federal laws. Participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
• Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
• Successful completion of the USRC training program in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by state.
• Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state or national certification program within 18 months of hire and must be maintained in good standing thereafter.
