How you will change lives

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross‑functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.

What you’ll be doing

• Patient care: Work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high‑quality dialysis treatment, including gathering patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating and terminating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, and collecting blood samples per physician orders.
• Technician duties: Ensure quality by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, conducting machine safety checks, and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.
• Safety and quality: Use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment; adhere to company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws; participate in staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

What we’re looking for

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
• Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors.

Other requirements

• Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency; completion of the USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
• Patient Care Technician certification obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may apply and be required.
