Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Hemodialysis team. The role supports patient care through collaboration with Registered Nurses and adheres to dialysis protocol across multiple access sites. Staffing includes RNs, LPNs, and Techs.

Typical duties include assessments, treatment plan support, administration of dialysis-related care, and ongoing education to maintain clinical currency. Base pay range is provided; local benefits apply.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or ASN/BSN in Nursing.
Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse license.
Completion of NYS DOH/NYSDOE training for LPNs in outpatient hemodialysis.
Annual competency for LPNs accessing central lines in HD units.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

Assess each patient’s medical status on admission and throughout treatment.
Assist in implementing the patient’s treatment plan under RN guidance.
Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines of the department.
Act in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and professional standards and policies.
Maintain clinical currency by pursuing continuing education opportunities.
Administer IVP medications specific to dialysis patients.
